The bag has a good seal and has enough room for a typical daily catch. Cleaning is a little more involved as the bag collapses on itself. While most may balk at using disposable plastic bags for your catch, it makes cleanup easier. Plus since I use cold packs, it keep them more sanitary. As others have stated there is no insulation so plan accordingly.
The Buffalo gears Fish bag is great in terms of quality. It is made of a thick rubberized material which can handle some wear and tear from larger and spinier fish. It folds up tightly and flat, yet, does not crease and cause visible weak points on the material. The zipper handle feels nice, with a soft grippy coating, and the zipper opens and closes smoothly. It is truly watertight, with a very well sealed zipper which closes near seamlessly when zipped. The one point where it could leak is if the zipper is not fully pulled all the way when closing. The tiny gap in front would leak a bit. However, if you fully close it, it is impressively watertight. I filled it with ~2 gallons of water and it held up to all kinds of shaking, flipping, and tossing around. It is decently large in size, capable of fitting 4 salmon and some ice, or a nice mess of panfish. There are some caveats though, mainly that it is not very insulated. Some other fish bags at a similar price point have insulation built in. I took it out on my kayak with a sixth of a bag full of ice, approximately 5lbs After 9 hrs of lake fishing in 55~60 degree weather, with intermittent sunshine (the bag is black and could absorb more light/heat), about half the ice remained in a big chunk and the rest melted. If there was more ice it could possibly hold up better. I'm not sure how well it can handle warmer weather until summer comes around. I do not salt my ice so I do not know if salt water degrades the material and zipper. Overall, it is a nice and portable but tough fish bag.
We have taken this one on 2 fishing trips, and it's very convenient to carry as it folds up very well, but also opens up to a substantial size, which can serve as a carrying bag for fishing supplies if you didn't catch anything.
On our 2nd outing, we caught 16-inch largemouth bass and it fit inside perfectly. We filled the bag up with some water and placed the bass inside the bag and it kept well until we got home about an hour and a half later. We had no issues with any smells or leaking during the hike-up from the lake or the ride home. Very solid bag, I see no issues with it, it's very sturdy, well constructed, and it doesn't look nor feel like it would easily tear/break.
Note, the bag is actually quite big and it would have no problem holding a large amount of fish.
This bag is a really good size. It feels tough and like it will hold up over time. The zipper works great. The handles are decent. The included shoulder strap is adjustable and has a large shoulder pad. I like how optimistic it is - implying that you WILL be catching so many fish you will need a large and padded shoulder strap. The shoulder strap clips on to loops that seem very securely attached to the bag. Even the zipper pull is nice and large and sturdy.
All in all I think this bag will meet and possibly exceed all expectations.
Very nice bag for fish, heavy rubber so shouldn't rip. Shoulder strap to carry, nice bag
